Sales (USA & International)

Position Overview

  • Full-Time, Multiple Positions
  • Located in Culver City for Sales in the USA / Located in Europe for International Sales

Position Description

As a member of the Sales Team, you will communicate with potential clients, understand their needs, and help match them with a system and package that suits their project requirements. You should be able to understand the technology behind Phoenix systems, and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and professionally under pressure.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Understand UAV LiDAR operation and Phoenix LiDAR technology so that you can help others to find the right systems and packages for their project requirements. Phoenix clients use our drone mapping technology for applications in forestry, utilities, architecture, and more. Your ability to learn industry jargon, tech specs, compatibility, common challenges, etc., is a must.
  • Prospect and develop sales relationships with key stakeholders in our target audience, and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities for business growth.
  • Understand a client’s budget and acquisition process so that you can be an effective aid in their acquisition process.
  • Maintain contact as account executive after a sale is complete, routing post-sale inquiries to the right teams.
  • Leverage CRM system in a timely manner to maximize team efficiency and maintain data integrity.
  • Represent the company at events like trade shows, webinars, workshops, and more. You should be comfortable presenting on stage, on video, at meetings, etc., and may sometimes need to travel.
  • Serve as a partner to training and production teams as needed. Helping others troubleshoot, and occasionally accompanying teams to local training/testing sites.
  • Support the team as needs evolve with other tasks that may not be included here. You should take ownership of your work and offer more creative or efficient solutions to processes as you see them.

Skills and Experience:

  • Sales experience is required
  • Knowledge of spatial analysis, mapping, and problem solving is preferred
  • Degree in engineering or related field is preferred. We will train the right person.
  • Must be a team player and maintain a professional attitude
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of teams, including engineering, marketing, operations, finance, and others.

The person in this part-time position will typically be assigned hours between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday through Friday. This person should be willing to travel to local training/testing sites, or to work beyond normal hours, should the need arise.

Technical Intern

Position Overview

  • Part-Time
  • Culver City

Position Description

As a Technical Intern, you will be involved in the day-to-day operations of data production and will be embedded within a production team. You will aid in the processing and classification of remote sensing data and general operational efforts to support team functionality. The Technical Intern will learn to produce accurate and precise data products in a consistent and timely manner, and have strong interest and ability in working with geospatial data.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support the efforts of technicians and analysts
  • Analyze LiDAR data to identify blemishes or anomalies and take appropriate action
  • Manipulate and classify data with great attention to detail and efficiency
  • Understand how UAV LiDAR systems are used in order to maximize your learning and contribution to the process

Field Surveyor

Position Overview

  • Full-Time
  • Compensation: DOE, 401(k) with matching after 10 months, paid vacation, holidays, and sick days

Job Description

As Field Surveyor, your responsibilities encompass many aspects of LiDAR and remote sensing data acquisition and will involve extensive domestic and global travel. Throughout the year, field rotations will last approximately twenty-two consecutive days, followed by 12 days off-duty.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and secure use of company equipment and instrumentation
  • Set up GPS base stations and collect ground data points in study areas
  • Troubleshoot equipment and settings as needed
  • Complete necessary documentation, field logs, and data transfer duties in a timely manner
  • Comply with company reimbursement policies
  • Adhere to a strict work schedule
  • Support the team as needs evolve with other tasks that may not be included here. You should take ownership of your work and offer more creative or efficient solutions to processes as you see them.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting

Production Technician

Position Overview

  • Full-Time

Job Description

As Production Technician, you will work with others on your team to build and assemble high-tech electronic components for aerial mapping systems. We will provide technical training, but you should be comfortable working with electronics and have the ability to follow safety procedures that ensure your protection and that of the sensitive electronics that you will be handling.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Understand technical hardware in order to build electronic components and hardware assemble systems.
  • Understand how to handle electronics and use technical skills, like soldering and cable-making to build complex systems.
  • Follow proper procedures to protect yourself and the electronics you handle.
  • Understand some programming, like Linux and other basic technical languages. Mastery is not required.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that each product is built on time and correctly.
  • Support the team as needs evolve with other tasks that may not be included here. You should take ownership of your work and offer more creative or efficient solutions to processes as you see them.

Skills and Experience

  • Must be a team player and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Ability to solder is required, experience building cables is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical field, production environment, preferred

Project Coordinator

Position Overview

  • Full-Time
  • Culver City

Job Description

As Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for various project support tasks, including: flight planning, equipment and sensor tracking, project logistics, strategy and tactics, management of personnel, and field support.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Communicate consistently with both office and deployed field staff
  • Act as a point of contact for field personnel
  • Communicate with land surveyor in-training (LSIT) and professional land surveyor (PLS), if applicable, regarding ground logistics and planning
  • Track status in study areas, including personnel, weather, resources, etc.
  • Develop efficient flight and logistical plans that meet or exceed project specification
  • Stay proficient with all relevant software and field methodologies
  • Communicate with Project Managers and Production Managers regarding project details
  • Assist in detailed tracking of project costs
  • Assist in maintaining field safety program protocols and meetings
  • Report safety concerns and violations/issues to leadership
  • Travel as needed
  • Be flexible, as needed, to a non-traditional work schedule in order to assist in field operations

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in science, engineering, or a related field
  • 2-3 years field experience as an airborne sensor operator
  • Technical proficiency with GIS software packages
  • In-depth experience using various LiDAR sensors, cameras and other instruments
  • Experience using both flight planning and post-processing software packages
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Firm understanding of geospatial concepts and GPS survey methods
  • Must be a team player and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Valid driver license

Post-Processing Engineer

Position Overview

  • Full-Time or Part-Time
  • Culver City or Remote
  • Compensation: DOE, Depends on Full/Part Time Status

Job Description

  • Assist the production team in achieving technical quality standards while meeting production schedules
  • Provide technical experience in LiDAR data processing and production
  • Troubleshoot and solve routine LiDAR data processing issues
  • Adhere to budgets for project and task level
  • Meet day-to-day schedule and budget compliance
  • Communicate with team leads on issues affecting schedules, budgets, and technical issues
  • Perform technical troubleshooting for day-to-day issues
  • Participate in document and procedure reviews and updates
  • Adhere to safety and security policies
  • Document personal metrics and quality on assigned projects
  • Extract 2d and 3d information from the data and generate CAD mapping for delivery
  • Work individually and as a team member

Preferred Experience

  • 2 years of experience in LiDAR production, base mapping and CAD mapping
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geography, GIS or related discipline or 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using software tools and packages for LiDAR processing and management, image processing and feature extraction such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Terrasolid and GeoCue or other similar 3D mapping software packages desired
  • Additional software experience with Corpscon, POS PAC MMS/ and Global mapper preferred
  • Excellent computer skills are required
  • Must have the desire to learn new technologies, software, hardware, methodologies and assist the LIDAR team to operate at maximum efficiency
  • Demonstrate energy, drive and passion for LIDAR
  • Pay strict attention to details and always be focused on maximizing production while maintaining quality control
  • Work well with others, be team oriented, helpful and a good problem solver
  • Exercise strong communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Ability to read, understand and apply technical information from procedure manuals, written and verbal instruction, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to understand 3D surface modeling and 3D visualization concepts
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Adhere to deadlines and high volume of work
  • May or may not require a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record

Technical Product Specialist

Position Overview

Position Description

As Technical Product Specialist, you will work with others on your team to train and support clients and other internal groups. You should have the ability to understand complex technical processes and to explain them to a non-technical audience. You’ll conduct trainings and provide regular support to customers team members.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Understand UAV LiDAR operation so that you can train others: this includes how the hardware works together, how to troubleshoot hardware/software errors, and how to provide tech support and training to clients and team members
  • Understand how UAV LiDAR systems are used so that you can relate to and support users who buy our systems for applications like forestry, utilities, architecture, and more. This means understanding industry jargon, tech specs, compatibility, common challenges, etc.
  • Develop training plans and materials so that you can teach customers and other team members about products, new features, benefits, uses, and specifications. Your trainings can be in person, online (webinars etc.), or via written manuals.
  • Collaborate with other teams, especially sales and marketing, to ensure that all team members are aware of product releases and newsworthy features in time for promotion.
  • Serve as a partner to the sales/marketing teams by being able to answer technical questions that they or their constituents receive using various communications platforms.
  • Serve as a partner to training and production teams as needed. Helping others troubleshoot, and occasionally accompanying teams to local training/testing sites.
  • Support the team as needs evolve with other tasks that may not be included here. You should take ownership of your work and offer more creative or efficient solutions to processes as you see them.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in engineering or related field is preferred, but not required. We will train the right person as long as he/she can become an expert in LiDAR technology.
  • Must be a team player and maintain a professional attitude
  • Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of teams, including engineering, marketing, operations, finance, and others.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Specialist, or related role, preferred
  • Industry experience is preferred, but not required
